Are you Free from URself?

It’s not about freedom “out there.” It’s about freedom in here 💗.

Every year around this time, there’s a lot of talk about independence.

Flags. Fireworks. Forced optimism.

But as a coach, the kind of independence I see most people fighting for is the ability to walk into work and not lose themselves.
You want to speak freely without walking on eggshells.
To disagree without being labeled “difficult.”
To stop shrinking just to make someone else comfortable.
To set a boundary without writing a TED Talk to justify it.
To get feedback without spiraling.
To lead without pretending.
But the #1 issue people bring to our sessions isn’t about time management, promotions, or even burnout. It’s people stuff.

The boss who gaslights.
The peer who plays politics.
The team that drains you dry.
The part of yourself that keeps playing small to survive it all.

So today, I’m not lighting a sparkler for patriotism.
I’m lighting one for your personal sovereignty.
Here’s to choosing relationships that make room for your voice.
And walking away from ones that require your silence.
